Welcome to my first blog entry on my first independent blog! This is very exciting for me as not only do I have a site with great colors and designs, I have own my name in a url. :) Oh the little things that make us happy… lol!

As you may have read in the ‘about’ section to the right, this blog is an extention of my previous blog on xanga. I’ve spent the last 2+ years writing there and seeing as I love it, I decided to take it to the next level. Xanga seems to be fading away as well and I’d hate for my blog to fade away with it.

Looking back over my past entries, certain themes seem to repeat themselves. I write a lot about women, politics, friends, swing and God. Considering I am a social Christian female who loves politics… are we really surprised?

I’ve broken down the catagories i think i’ll write the most under to the right and have decided that for this first blog, I’ll give you a little overview of what each one will look like.

Encounters with God: these posts will concern things I feel God shows me, or what he speaks to me, or great stories from other people.

Friends: i have lovely friends and sometimes i like to write about them…

Once Upon a Time: Sometimes when i go to a social event or have ridiculous happenings in a day, I turn them into stories. I’m generally the princess and I work pictures around the happenings of an event. You really either love these blogs or hate them :).

of the Female Persuasion: I have strong opinions about women and our flaws and strengths. I often write very opinionated blogs on these topics to the delight and horror of many.

Swing: I love to dance swing and there’s really a lot more then I think people realize to this world. A lot of my posts in this catagory will be picture posts or video.

Social Injustice: Some of us have a strong desire to set things right and are fiercely angered over the wrong doings in this world. I am one of those people and write about these concerns.

Humor: I have the oddest things happen to me… these will be included in this catagory. Also just anything i find…. humorous. Profound, i know.

Social Events: not much explanation needed here i think..

Music: I’m a musician. I sing, i play piano, flute…. I have a great appreciation for music and lots of opinions on opera, pop trends etc.

Politics: Yes I love to debate politics. I’ve always loved politics and world events- used to rush home after school everyday so I could watch MPR everyday. I also love debate so put these two things together you’ll either love these blogs or completely hate them. Consider yourself forewarned. :)

This is where I will begin. I imagine i’ll have more catagories come up as this journey progresses, but for now I think this is a good starting place.
