with sprinklings of you
Its Saturday night. I’m in my new house having a nice chat with my new housemate. Suddenly, I get a call from Genie upstairs telling me our cars have been egged.
I run outside to see what’s going on and meet my new favorite neighbor. He proceeds to tell us the story of the event now known as “The Egging of Spring 2008.”
He tells us, “I heard noise outside and came out to see our cars being egged by 3 kids. When they saw me, they started running so I chased after them. The two little guys were way ahead… but there was a heavy boy running in the back. I screamed at them, “You’re wasting your time running cause I may not get you, but I’m going to get big boy and he’s going to give me your numbers!” Sure enough. I caught up with big boy and he gave me their numbers. I called them and had them come back and clean off all the egg for your cars. If you want their numbers to call them as well, you can have it.”
All 5 of us were in utter shock at our new favorite neighbor. We thanked him profusely as he continued to bring out more soap and water to catch any of the egg the kids left behind. We of course tried to help him, but he was well ahead of the game on us. He had the water prepared, and sponges- knew exactly what to do. The whole event really turned into little inconvenience at all for us because this man took it all on himself.
Things like this dont happen that often to me. When they do, I stand flabergasted. How many people would have responded the way he did? I dont think many. This man displayed what it means to be Christlike- and whether or not this man is or is not a Christian- he emulated Christ’s call for us on Saturday. He is an example for us to follow and I know me and my housemates are all thankful for it.
Would love to hear stories of people helping you out in your everyday or any other comments you want to share.
This blog is a place for people to openly discuss their beliefs and thoughts on a variety of subjects. Sometimes the blog will be serious, other times humorous, and still other times a blend of both. Whatever it is in content, I hope that as you read my posts, you feel welcome to share your thoughts and discuss them with others. My first blog, wwww.xanga.com/resplendentRachel was a place where i was able to grow in my writing skills, convictions and beliefs. I hope this blog will do the same for me and and the same for you. All i ask is that you have any open mind to all that's presented and I will try my best to do the same for you :). As a quick side note, even if you dont know me, or have any idea of who I am or what I'm about, please feel free to comment. I love meeting new people so you will most certainly make my day :).

Okay, was he good-looking? Do you think he was after one of you five attractive young women? Did he ask for your digits? He doesn’t need to, he knows where you live!
Like the new site by the way, good one Simon!

Hahahah… that’s amazing! Definitely a call to step up as a faith-warrior against the egging of folks in spirit.

I like Becky’s questions. But as one of the girls, I can’t say that he was after one of us.

I think maybe Christ would have just cleaned off the egg himself and not have bothered with the kids, especially since it is likely that “big boy” took major heat from his accomplices.
